Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Language (GAFL) is a private Korean national high school focusing on foreign languages. Established in 2009, GAFL is a co-educational boarding school with approximately 700 students. Also, it became the first national Korean school to offer IB (the International Baccalaureate) program and GAFL still remains the only national Korean IB World School. Under the philosophy of humanism and betterment through teaching and learning, GAFL cultivates future leaders with a global sense and creative mind. In addition, the students achieve outstanding examination results and go on to attend the prestigious universities and colleges in the US, Asia, and the UK.
□ Duties and Responsibilities ■ Teaching IB English B and literature and organizing classes ■ Attending teacher meetings and relevant meetings ■ Supporting and organizing extracurricular activities of students in school ■ Creating exam materials and supervising exams ■ Supporting student life, such as proctoring for self-study ■ Performing tasks as instructed by the principal ■ Supporting the ethos and mission of the school
□ Working condition ■ Starting date: August, 1st, 2018 ~ July, 31th, 2019 ■ Contract duration: Yearly renewable contract ■ Teaching hours: 16~20hours (5days in a week) ■ Working hours: 08:00~17:00 ■ Monthly salary: KRW 2.8million~3.6million (negotiable, it may vary according to experience) ■ Housing fee: KRW 450,000 provided (monthly)
□ Hiring qualifications ■ At least 1 year of successful teaching experience, at the specific grade level and subject area of our vacancy in an accredited public or private high school ■ A bachelor degree at the subject area of our vacancy (a master degree preferred) ■ English native speaker or Korean-English bilingual speaker ■ Valid teaching certificate from an accredited teacher education program(preferred) ■ Familiarity with current teaching materials and methodologies, as well as evidence of recent professional development ■ Familiarity with a collaborative working environment
