I am a U.S. citizen and a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Studio Art- Visual Communications. For over 6 years, I have taught English as a second language to students in Korea. Even to this day, I am fascinated with Korea- its culture, the language and everything that Korea has to offer. Furthermore, it has always been rewarding being a teacher; I have enjoyed working with children (ages 8-16) and I have had the opportunity to watch many of my students grow.

In the winter of 2010 and in the summer of 2012, I travelled with groups of young Korean students on immersion trips to the U.S. (cross-country) and Canada. Because of these experiences, as well as the work experience I have had in Korea, I am culturally sensitive, open-minded, understanding, and I can easily adapt to new environments. As an ESL teacher, I can easily understand and be able to communicate with students and establish rapport regardless of the language barrier. With my experience, compassion, and love for teaching, I am confident that I would be a valuable instructor in any institution teaching English as a second language.

  • Created and implemented curriculum for a wide range of levels and students from ages 8 to 16. Aided students in improving their English proficiency as well as their confidence with effective lessons and activities. Engaged students with a rewards system to encourage and motivate students to actively learn in the classroom. Helped organize two group trips in the U.S.A.
