I am interested in the Instructor opening that you have at your school

I believe that future students will learn from my example to not only become better musicians but to become better people. I want them to see how a person can be an effective leader through intentional collaboration, empathetic listening, and critical thinking. I constantly strive to become a better person and music educator so that I may best serve my students.

Through my student teaching experiences, I have led a wide range of instructional opportunities such as refining choral and vocal technique, constructing unit plans, and creating distance learning opportunities. Across all my teaching experiences, I have valued personal relationships with my students and have drawn on my varied undergraduate and postgraduate experiences to improve instruction for my students. My responsibilities in the National Association for Music Educators student chapter at CSULB helped me hone my event planning, management, and leadership skills. Additionally, as an undergraduate, I was able to participate in cutting edge pedagogical classes provided by CSULB’s progressive music education program. I was exposed to the extended pedagogical practices of mariachi, hip hop, rock band, and music production. I plan to use this knowledge to expand the traditional model of the large performance ensemble and to engage the students through modern means.
