경력사항 | Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” —Nelson Mandela
This quote by Nelson Mandela has guided my journey as an educator over the past 12 years. With a strong foundation in early childhood education, experience teaching the Cambridge and IB PYP interdisciplinary curriculum, and a deep commitment to holistic, play-based learning, I believe I would be a valuable addition to your learning community.
I hold a Master’s in Education, with a specialization in the IB PYP curriculum. My thesis explored how mindfulness strategies can reduce anxiety and support language acquisition in ESL learners—an area I am deeply passionate about and actively integrate into my daily teaching practice. This research enhanced my understanding of inquiry-based learning, the importance of well-being in education, and the power of culturally responsive pedagogy.
My teaching experience includes Younghoon Elementary School in Seoul, where I taught an interdisciplinary IB PYP and Cambridge inspired curriculum, combining Language Arts, Global Citizenship, STEM, and Project-Based Learning. This experience strengthened my ability to design engaging units that support transdisciplinary thinking, promote student agency, and reflect a global-minded approach.
I have taught learners from Pre-K to Grade 3 across diverse international, independent, and public school settings.I am especially passionate about kindergarten and early primary education, believing these formative years are crucial for developing children’s social-emotional and academic foundations. My teaching draws inspiration from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and nature-based philosophies, emphasizing creativity, exploration, and child-led inquiry.
Beyond the classroom, I have lead programs in forest and outdoor education, infusing my teaching with lessons on environmental stewardship, mindfulness, and wellness. I view my role as not only an educator but a guide and mentor, supporting each child’s holistic growth while nurturing curiosity, empathy, and resilience.
