New Immigrations requirement about Diplomas

Forged diplomas have been a constant problem here in Korea, and immigrations has finally come up with a partial solution.

There are now three ways to prove your diploma or degree's authenticity.
You must either get it Apostilled, Varified by the Korean consulate, or varified by the KCUE
.

If you do not get this done, you CAN NOT apply for a new visa, Transfer your old visa, or get approval for an additional work place permit.

If you get this done, you will NEVER have to submit your diploma ever again in Korea. When you apply for you next visa you only have to submit a new criminal background check.

One way is to get an Apostille on a copy of the diploma from the applicants home countries Apostille issuing Government office. Some countries require a noterization before the Apostille process and some do not.
If you are still in your country, I would suggest this method.

Second way is to get a verification from the Korean Council for University Education.
One down side of this method is that only schools can apply for the applicant and that the applicant themselves can not apply for it on their own.
The other downside is that it will take approximately 4 weeks for the results to come back.
If you are currently in Korea and have some time left on your contract I would suggest you talk with your current school to do you a favor and apply for the varification while you have some time.

And the last way is to go to the nearest Korean consulate and getting a copy of your diploma Varified.
If you are in Canada, this is the only method you can take.
