Robin, Experienced Teacher in Korea

I have earned a Bachelor’s degree in communications from Ashland University(Ohio, USA) with a minor in ForeignStudies and, also, attained a 120-hr TEFL certification.  As a highly motivated and compassionateteacher, I am confident in my ability to become a valuable ESL teacher for anyorganization.

            Theaccompanying resume exhibits several of my achievements and qualifications forbeing an ESL teacher.  For example, twoyears of teaching English in South Korea has afforded me many opportunities togrow and excel on many levels, within my school, the city, and the countyeducation offices.  Teaching in-school19-22 hours per week, working during the vacation period for special Englishcamps, teaching extra Saturday classes, and instructing native Korean teachersof English (a 2-hour class per week) have provided me a broad range of teachingexperiences.  Additionally, I have beenable to work one-on-one with several advanced students for various Englishcompetitions.  One student with whom Iworked, for a period of twenty hours over 5 days, finished 1^st overallin the provincial speech contest, while most of my other one-on-one studentsfinished 2^nd  or 3^rd incontests involving writing, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. 

After two years of teaching in thesame city and province, I have been called upon as the “lead” native Englishteacher to help in many ways.  Thisincludes but is not limited to: writing questions and hosting a quizcompetition for students, organizing the summer camp schedule, presenting speechesto incoming ESL teachers, and judging three separate English competitions fromall ages.  This semester I placed firstof all English teachers in the provincial teaching competition.  My enthusiasm, desire, attitude, andmotivation represent some of the reasons I have been able to succeed as ateacher here in Korea.
