| 강사 소개 | I wanted to take the time to thank you for viewing my resume and to tell you a little bit about myself. I lived in South Korea from 2009 to 2012 and taught mostly elementary grade students. It was during this time that I experience the greatest period of growth in my life. I probably learned more from the first day of teaching than I could in an entire year at school. I met my future wife in Seoul and ended up moving back to the United States to get married and continue life back home. As time went by, I felt that I had a stronger connection to South Korea and we started to think about moving back. I have worked at three different schools each with different styles of teaching programs and work environments. I lived in the small coastal town of Gwangyang at a wonderful public school until moving to Seoul to teach at an academy with an amazing support system and teaching environment. My third job was for an after school program at a public school in Bucheon. I do know that South Korea has many strict standards for education and that so much is expected from students. I feel that I can bring a unique perspective to their lives and help them to find a way to express their true selves. It’s not good enough to expect each student to respond equally to a teaching style. As a teacher, I must be adaptable and observant to what does, and doesn’t work for each student. It is my job to show them not only how to speak and write, but also to show them how to express themselves honestly. If they can find a method of study that comes from an honest place that speaks to them, then they will succeed in a far greater capacity than if they simply learned the rules.
