강사 소개

The need to learn another language is becoming ever more useful as our move toward globalization continues. Having grown up in America around people from all over the world, I have always been intrigued about the transition one must make upon arrival on foreign soil. I have always admired the ability of an individual or a family to acclimate to their new habit. Being able to learn the language is arguably the most important component to anyone’s experience. I have often found myself as one of individuals trying to help new entries get acclimated by teaching the language to those that I encountered (as a manger in my previous job we often employed a lot of people who had recently migrated to the U.S.)  Seeing firsthand, how an improvement in a foreign language can have a direct impact on the quality of one’s existence in a new setting inspired me to pursue an appointment as an English Teacher in Korea.

In my professional experience I have executed a lot of the compentiences that are required to become a teacher. Being a manager at a retail establishment in a U.S. city that has a high percentage of immigrants allows you to work by their side and requires you in a lot of instances to teach them the language. As a manager at Rite Aid Pharmacy and CVS pharmacy I was in the position to directly interact and teach English to those who had just came to the county, so that they could perform the job proficiently. In a lot of instances, I saw novice speakers turn into conversation speakers in a short amount of time. Another competency that I required to render was the overall capacity to teach. I regularly held in house training sessions where I would hold mini-seminars to teach current and new employee’s new technical and physical tools that the company was implementing in order to make our jobs more efficient.  In addition to that, I regularly was the point person in charge of coaching employees who were having difficulty performing various aspects of our jobs.

Given the opportunity, I would be humbled if I could transfer my skills to become a teacher in South Korea. Being a teacher of sorts and seeing up-close the sheer power of language in opening doors for those that I coached was extremely satisfying. Having already procured the requisite documentation (I am also currently in Korea and have the E-2 visa and health check) I am ready to teach right away. Thank you for your time.

                                                                                                          Sincerely,

                                                                                                                             Olarinde Folarin

Through my years in the professional setting as a manger I have gardnered exprience teaching those who I have lead. Because I live in an area of the United States that has a big immigration presence, I had the opportunity to teach alot of my emloyees English because they were new to the country. I rountinely had the opportunity to help novice speakes become conversational speakers in a very short period of time. This exprience because with the ability to understand the languge you saw their confidence grow which helped them at and away from work
