Dominic, ESL Teacher

Dear Sir or Madam

My name is Dominic DeCicco, I currently live in America. I am interested in becoming an ESL teacher in Korea. I’m interested in teaching in Korea because I think it would be a great opportunity to have a positive impact on young learners. It will also be a great opportunity to explore Korean culture.

I am a native English speaker from America. I have a Game Development degree from Full Sail University and received my 170-hour TEFL certification from International TEFL Academy. I previously was a Math tutor for two years. I taught people between the ages of 15-30 in Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry. For a couple months in 2019 I was an ESL tutor for people between the ages 18-35. I met with each student for one hour each week. My students were from Korea and Spanish speaking countries. Through these experiences I learned about tailoring my lessons for students based on their learning styles and what they are interested in. The process of teaching my students had improved my communications skills.

I’m a technically savvy person so I could easily incorporate technology into the classroom. I enjoy new challenges and finding creative solutions to problems. I think these qualities will be useful for being an effective teacher.
