Summer, Art Educator

My name is Summer Cash. I live in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, and have been searching for a position teaching art in Korea. I have a bachelors degree in art education with a minor in secondary education, and am a certified teacher k-12. I went to University of Arkansas in Little Rock for my Bachelors, and attended Hanyang University's HISS program to further my education in eastern art. I have been teaching children for over a year now. I am a hardworking professional who has been consistently praised as detail oriented by my coworkers and management. Over the course of my five year career, I’ve developed a skill set directly relevant to the art teacher role in Korea you are hiring for, including but not limited to; adaptive teaching methods, classroom management skills, and team building. Overall I have consistently demonstrated communication, organizational skills, and creative thinking abilities in my previous experiences.

As a coordinator my job was to manage the students day making sure it stayed structured and active. I assisted a classroom teacher in teaching English, math, writing, and reading assignments. I provided educational games and physical activities. My second strong suit was the paperwork that was required to show what the children learned every day. This was then presented to the city. As an Art instructor at Life Skills for Youth, I established a prominent art enrichment setting at Life Skills for Youth, where previous my employment there was none. I have taught 2D design, 3D design, and contemporary craft lessons utilizing the state standards.

2018 Student teacher at Central High School with Amanda Heinbockel. I created lessons at Central for 2 months including 2D drawing (using collage, color blending techniques with color pencil, and pencil shading) and 3D lessons (building with posterboard, cardboard, wire and paper mache, and found objects). 
2018 Art education practicum at Horace Mann With Jordan Wolfe. I created and taught lessons with 7th graders at Horace Mann. These lessons included guided whole class instruction and the themes included identity and individual expression. 2014 volunteer at school of deaf and blind, little rock, Arkansas, taught watercolor techniques.

2016 Volunteer service learning at Stephens Elementary with Shannon Fletcher. I created and taught lessons for the art club, 4th grade, and special needs class at Stephens. These lessons incorporated choice based projects.
