Jasmin, Experienced teacher with Fashion Design background

안녕하세요! I have one year of experience teaching English to Elementary, Middle and High School students at the Daegu Gyeongbuk English Village in Chilgok, South Korea in an experiential setting. I helped to develop new lesson plans and create content for workbooks. 

I adapt quickly to new situations and environments.  Because my professional background is in Fashion Accessory design, I’ve had the chance to travel overseas to work with sample rooms and factories.  I realized then that the ability to communicate clearly and effectively is an invaluable skill. My mission in life is to inspire others to pursue their dreams and passions. By teaching English, I can help my students become global citizens, who care about the world and making it a better place. I am patient, flexible, and work well under pressure.

One of the most effective ways that I assist ESL students is by designing and presenting comprehensible and stimulating lesson plans that incorporate all styles of learning, from visual to kinesthetic. I research and incorporate a variety of resources, from games to group activities. I have found that my students enjoy learning English when it’s fun! I really miss working with children.  I loved working in Korea and would be honored to work there again.

Before I came to Korea to teach ESL, I taught hat design to undergraduate fashion students at the Parsons School of Design in New York City for 3 1/2 years as an adjunct professor.  Many of my students were Korean, and so this is where I was introduced to the culture, developing a fascination for it and ultimately bringing me to Korea.
